knee orthoses
Different types of knee braces are available, with or without prescriptions, ranging from light control to maximum stabilization.
Elastic knee supports are ideal for mild edema problems, ligament hyperlaxity and early-stage arthritis or osteoarthritis.
Patellar orthoses are very effective in centering and maintaining the patella in the correct mechanical alignment and thus preventing possible deterioration of the cartilage caused by inadequate friction on the femoral condyles.
They are generally prescribed for diagnoses such as:
- patellofemoral syndrome
- chondromalacia
- patella dislocation
- moderate case of arthritis or osteoarthritis of the knee
- knee instability
These orthoses contain either metal stays or aluminum joints which aim to stabilize the entire knee.
Rigid orthoses , on the other hand, have metal uprights attached to plastic, metal or carbon fiber bands at the thigh and calf. They are designed to provide maximum knee stabilization in cases of ligament tears, severe sprains and advanced arthritis or osteoarthritis where it corrects the valgus or varus angle of the knee. Thanks to a system of straps and rigid shells, the orthosis can significantly reduce the pathological movements associated with these injuries by limiting unwanted ligament range without preventing normal anatomical movement.
They are generally paid for either by private insurance or by the Régie d’assurance maladie du Québec according to the prescription of the specialist doctor and are all indicated for trauma such as:
- partial or total tears of the anterior or posterior cruciate ligaments, external or internal collateral ligaments or even the menisci.
They can be used as soon as weight-bearing is authorized by the doctor and are also used during rehabilitation and later to stabilize the knee when it is under heavy stress, for example when walking on uneven or sloping surfaces and when playing sports.

Compression stockings
Do your legs feel heavy at the end of the day? You’re probably suffering from venous insufficiency. Support stockings can help prevent this type of discomfort. This is also true for venous disorders such as varicose veins, phlebitis, venous thrombosis, lymphedema, or vascular disorders related to diabetes or simply pregnancy.
We offer a wide range of stockings from world-renowned brands such as Sigvaris, Jobst, Mediven, Venosan, Airway, and Bauerfeind. Most of our stockings are available in knee-high, thigh-high, and pantyhose lengths. Unlike over-the-counter stockings, they are custom-sized to provide you with perfect graduated compression regardless of your leg length
Toes
Of course, using a foot orthotic relieves pressure points under the feet and restores mechanical realignment… but when your toes have started to become deformed or you have a corn that is causing you pain, you need silicone splints or protectors that will prevent the toe from becoming further deformed and/or prevent the corn from thickening. Come see us for a more in-depth assessment, this way you can be sure you are buying the right product for your condition and stop accumulating a number of useless gadgets purchased over the counter.
